2019 Business Marketing Forecast

2019 Business Marketing Forecast

When some entrepreneurs start their business, they don’t fully grasp the idea that they have to do what other “businesses” do. Business start-up involves much more than having a passion to do what we love. It includes having a budget, income reporting, planning for growth or losses, preparing a marketing forecast to analyze where the business stands according to trends, and so much more.

A business marketing forecast is a core component of conducting business and guides our analysis in projecting the future numbers, characteristics, and trends in our target market.

Entrepreneur’s Guide to Business Goal Setting

PEM Entrepreneur Business Goal Setting blog

Business goal setting and carving out time in your schedule to formulate those goals will make a substantial difference in the growth of your business. Through the hustle and bustle of running your business and home, it is easy to get swallowed up in the whirlpool of life. You somehow manage to succeed in staying on task but can’t even plan for tomorrow’s dinner– let alone plan for your business growth for the year.

If you start setting your business goals today, I guarantee that a year from now you will wonder why you didn’t start sooner. You have not “failed” if you did your very best to work towards your goals. Remember that you are farther then when you first set the goal and miles farther than before you made the leap to set it.

Many of us are afraid of failing. Fear is one of the most debilitating obstacles that deter us from setting our business goals. Getting through the mental hurdles of “I can’t do this” or “I will fail” is not easy, but do NOT wait any longer. Make goal setting a priority, NOW. You will not regret it.

Content Organization Systems: Ditch the Sticky Notes!

Content Organization Systems

Whether you are Type A or Type B personality, a business owner or entrepreneur, you likely have millions of ideas swimming through your head. Like most entrepreneurs though, your best ideas may come to you in the shower or in the car or another time during your day when you can’t easily write down the idea. These content organization systems will keep you from flushing your ideas down the drain with your shampoo.

It has happened to the best of us, but developing a system to capture your ideas digitally or in pen and paper can significantly benefit your business. Sticky notes everywhere are not an effective method for keeping your ideas organized and your business on track. Let’s make this year the year in which you finally ditch your sticky notes for good!

Best Business Planners for Entrepreneurs

PEM Best Business Planners for Entrepreneurs

I recently wrote about the Best Planner for Small Business Entrepreneurs but have realized that my planning style may not be the best fit for everyone. The selection of business planners for entrepreneurs is vast and includes a wide variety of calendar features.

This year I found the Kate Spade planner, which fits my business and personal life perfectly. I take elaborate notes and jot down details galore. This planner fits all of my business planning needs and planner personality.

However, I had a reality check last week when speaking to a client who read my blog post. She asked questions like, “Do you think I should keep a daily and monthly calendar?” “What if I run out of pages?” I clearly didn’t address important details in my post. Kate Spade was perfect for me, but many entrepreneurs have needs that differ from my own.

Not one of us is the same, nor does one exact strategy work for everyone. Our businesses are unique and we have preferences intrinsically our own. I want to share a few aspects to consider in narrowing down your search for the planner that works best for you and your business.

The How and Why of Repurposing Content to Grow Your Online Business

PEM Repurposing Content Blog-2

Repurposing content can possibly be the most cost effective and efficient technique online content creators can use to save time. Think about refurbishing furniture. You have furniture at home that you loved when you first bought it. You use it, love it, and make memories. Then it just sits there. It collects dust, but you remember how important it was to you. So, you renew it, give it a splash of color, and let your visitors enjoy it all over again.

That is exactly what repurposing your content is like, but with a few more benefits of course. Taking the content you have already developed and building on that creativity results in a priceless investment for your business–with little additional effort.

There are things I consistently encourage you to do for your online business–Be Strategic, Be Smart, and most of all know your why. Getting your content into more hands–and in front of more of your target audience–will result in advantages that a one-time post cannot deliver. Let me explain.
